A Tennessee native turned Texan, Jon Paul’s journey spans Dallas, Austin, and back, where he’s dedicated to serving others through family law. With a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Dallas and a Paralegal Certificate from SMU, Jon Paul pairs analytical skills with personal empathy, inspired by his own family’s experiences with divorce. Beyond work, he’s a passionate advocate for migrant rights, labor rights, anti-racism, and LGBTQ+ equality. Outside the office, Jon Paul enjoys playing bass, performing stand-up comedy, and watching horror movies. He shares his life with his cat, Captain, and his partner, Caroline. Guided by his mother’s resilience and Pope Francis’s example, Jon Paul also volunteers at St. Rita’s Catholic Community in Dallas. Jon Paul’s journey began in East Tennessee, but his path has taken him across Texas and beyond. Since moving to Dallas in 2016, spending time in Austin, and ultimately returning to Dallas in 2024, Jon Paul has cultivated a passion for serving others, shaped by both his personal experiences and professional ambitions.

Jon Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Dallas and earned his Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Southern Methodist University. His educational background reflects a thoughtful, analytical mind—one perfectly suited for navigating the complexities of family law.

Inspired by his firsthand experiences witnessing the challenges of divorce within his family, Jon Paul chose a career that allows him to extend empathy and support to those in need. His compassion is matched by a deep commitment to advocacy, championing causes like migrant rights, labor rights, anti-racism, and LGBTQ+ equality.

Outside of work, Jon Paul is a man of many talents. Whether playing bass guitar, performing as a local stand-up comedian, or watching his favorite horror movies, he embraces life with humor and curiosity. He shares his home with Captain, his beloved cat, and has been in a happy relationship with Caroline, a landscape architect, for three years.

Jon Paul’s colleagues and friends would describe him as empathetic and opinionated, qualities that serve him well both personally and professionally. He’s also known for his adventurous spirit—one that’s reflected in his goal to add more tattoos to his collection!

When asked about his influences, Jon Paul credits his mother’s resilience and Pope Francis’s commitment to peace as significant inspirations in his life.
